(Nespelem, WA) – The Colville Business Council voted today to endorse Hilary Franz for Washington’s 6th Congressional District. The seat is currently held by Rep. Derek Kilmer, who has endorsed Franz to fill his seat as he steps down.
The Chairman of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation, Jarred-Michael Erickson, said, “The Colville Tribes truly appreciates the work Hilary Franz has done as Commissioner of Public Lands to partner with tribes and to protect the environment. Over the past 8 years, Commissioner Franz has travelled to the Colville Reservation to visit and support our communities. During the Colville Tribes’ darkest time of struggle with fire control, Commissioner Franz provided extensive air assets, fire crews, and other assistance to protect our lands.”
Chairman Erickson continued, “Hilary Franz has earned our trust. She will follow in the tradition of Representatives such as Norm Dicks and Derek Kilmer. The Colville Tribes believes Hilary Franz is the best choice to represent Washington in this Congressional seat.”
